A PEDESTRIAN was seriously injured in an accident involving a car as he tried to cross Salthill Road.
David Shirley, of Selkirk Avenue, Burnley, and a Peugeot 406 driven by Jonathan Brown, 37, of Hawthorn Place, Clitheroe, were in collision at 12.25pm yesterday.
Mr Shirley, 51, suffered head injuries and was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary and later transferred to Hope Hospital, Salford, where his condition was today said to be 'critical'.
