I HAVE a little book called 'Bobby,' printed by Dixon's of Burnley in the 1920s. It tells the story of a fox-terrier dog which lives in a family consisting of Daddy, Mammy, a little girl called Baba and a baby boy.
They are what we would now call upwardly mobile. They have a car, a nanny, and have recently moved from a suburban street to live in the countryside near a farm. Daddy works in an office.
I'm intending to donate this book to the Burnley Local Studies Library, but before I do, can anyone please tell me who the author was?
KEN SPENCER, Manchester Road, Burnley.
