AN open day will be held at Burnley Central Library to highlight its support services for adults and children.

Help can include anything from assistance in completing library membership forms and advice on adult literacy and basic skills to information for parents and carers about special needs collections, and Braille and tape transcription for the sensory impaired.

Carole Wolstenholme, officer responsible for the service, is holding the open day and display in her office at the library tomorrow from 10am-noon and 1-5pm. Visitors can also enrol at the library for basic skills courses at Burnley College. Ann Harrison, basic skills co-ordinator for Burnley College, will also be on hand in the afternoon to answer questions about adult literacy. All enquiries will be treated sympathetically and in confidence.
