ANOTHER 150 new jobs are being created at computer group Time, it was revealed today.

The firm announced the new customer care posts at its Simonstone site which already employs more than 1,000 people.

TIme today said the new jobs were needed to cope with increasing sales at its mail order and retail computer businesses. The group is now the largest seller of PCs in the country.

Today's news comes just eight months after Time announced it was creating 500 new jobs at the site. More than 2,000 hopefuls applied for the 500 posts.

"It is pleasing to announce job creation especially for the North West," said Richard Harris, human resources manager at time.

Time was founded in 1987 by consultant paediatrician Dr Tariq Mohammed, who used a computer to calculate feed dosages for his patients.

He decided to see if there was a market for selling PCs by mail order by advertising one for sale in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. He later set up a shop in Preston New Road, Blackburn, before the firm moved to Devonport Road and then Simonstone.

He and his brother Tahir Mohsan, now managing director of the group, have amassed a personal fortune estimated at tens of millions from the company's success.
