AN annual showcase for young talent amongst schoolchildren in Pendle got off to an energetic start.
The week-long Pendle Schools Festival gives youngsters a chance to show off their skills in a non-competitive atmosphere in front of proud parents and appreciative audiences.
The event started on Saturday with more than 20 primary and secondary schools taking part in country dance demonstrations at schools across the borough.
Pupils from another six schools took part in displays of gymnastics.
Events will be held throughout this week.
The final will be at Colne Municipal Hall on Saturday when the children will take part in a mass music night.
Picture shows young 'witches' from Primet Primary School, front Clare Watson, back from left Lauren Taylor, Kirsty Thwaite, Laura Bamford rehearsing for the festival music night.
