MORE than 200 people enjoyed a blend of English and Asian entertainment and cuisine at the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen's annual ball.
The event, at King George's Hall, Blackburn, was attended by dignitaries and guests from across Lancashire, including Home Secretary and Blackburn MP Jack Straw, mayors and mayoresses, council officials and councillors.
Host Coun Salas Kiani chose to offer both English and Asian music and food to represent the whole of the Blackburn with Darwen community.
The event was held to raise funds for the Mayor's Millennium Charity, which helps disadvantaged children. The total amount raised is still being calculated.
Coun Kiani said the event went very well and added that he wished to thank all those involved in the event and those who have supported his charity throughout the year.
