A PENDLE Council report promises an extension to a private home for the elderly at Reedley will mean a jobs boost.

Despite objections from neighbours, the council's Brierfield and Reedley area committee is recommended to grant planning permission to build a two-storey extension and a ground floor extension at Four Oaks, The Crescent.

The extension, providing 15 extra bedrooms for a total of 37, will mean staff numbers will double from 10 to 20, but will also lead to more traffic using the unmade road leading to the home.

Neighbours say the extra traffic will cause safety and noise problems.
