AN East Lancashire master baker who has turned to teaching in a bid to pass on his talents to students has scooped a basketful of awards.
Ian Sutherland, bakery lecturer at Blackburn College, returned from the District Bakers Annual Bakery Exhibition in Swansea with 10 titles himself and another 28 for the college.
In total the college brought home 14 trophies and two shields, including the open bread championship, best loaf in show and the confectionery championship which Ian won himself.
British Baker Magazine said: "It was Blackburn College that yet again walked away with the majority of prizes."
The magazine added: "It really means something if you can beat Ian - he is the benchmark everyone else is measured by."
Blackburn College inspector Linda Harwood, chairman of the college board Derek Hall, Ian Sutherland and principal Sheena Ewing are pictured with the trophy haul.
