YOUTH groups from all over the Ribble Valley have been publicising their activities in newsletters for a Youth and Community Service competition.
Bill Taylor, district team manager for the Youth and Community Service in the Ribble Valley, organised the contest which invited youth groups to design their own newsletters and he received entries from more than 12 groups.
The first prize of £100 went to Read and Simonstone Youth Group who designed a multi-coloured sheet with articles about the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, a member's year-long trip to South Carolina and how they celebrated the millennium.
The £50 second prize was given to Billington Youth Group who presented a picture of living in the village and how it is changing with new homes being built.
And Clitheroe Young People's Group took the £25 third prize with an account of their trip to London to meet Home Secretary Jack Straw.
