BAMBER BRIDGE boss Tony Greenwood was more than pleased by his side's performances in the past week.

The club took four points from a possible six, beating Spennymoor United 2-0 and drawing 2-2 with Stalybridge Celtic.

He said: "I am very pleased with the four points and I'd have taken that last week.

"We should have beaten Stalybridge but made two defensive mistakes for their goals.

"We just have to keep the points rolling in now as we get closer to the safety zone.

"Saying that, Stalybridge are a Conference side and seventh in the league. If we win our home games all season and draw all the away matches, you can get 84 points in a season which is good enough. "And that's what we did last week so we should be happy.

"We have slipped up this season at home and it's that form that we should look at."

Injury-wise, Brig are back up to strength -- but are missing Tony's brother, Nigel.

Tony added: "Nigel picked up an ankle injury next week. He is struggling and I think he'll struggle until the end of the season."

Now that Brig have found some form, the manager is confident his side will be safe this season.

The boss continued: "I wouldn't say we'll finish mid-table, but other teams around us have started losing.

"Guiseley look like they are on the slippery slope and if we carry on the form of the past couple of games, we should be fine.

"It has been an up and down season. We're in the final of a Lancashire cup and reached the second round of the FA cup.

"And the players could have all that and the fact that they have avoided relegation, if we carry on in the same way we have this week.

"If we stay up, it will make us stronger. Going through this experience has certainly made me realise where we went wrong and made me stronger."
