Clarets fans are the most fashionable fans in the region -- and that's official.

The Burton Menswear League of Football Style placed Burnley 29th in the table of 102 clubs from the Premiership, Nationwide League and Scottish Premiership.

In a nationwide survey of over 1,200 fans, West Ham finished top of the pile.

The survey covered match attire, average clothes spend, pre-match refreshments, favourite music, preferred holiday destination, player style history and, ground rating.

CHERRY Red Records are producing a Burnley CD of some of the club's finest moments and other snippets from the Clarets history which is expected to be available in mid-May. Burnley band Chumbawumba have offered their services.

STEVE DAVIS' goalscoring performance at Cardiff City last Saturday earned him a place in the Opta Second Division team of the week.

BURNLEY'S championship team of 1959-60 are getting together for a special celebration dinner to mark the 40th anniversary of their remarkable success.

The entire team has agreed to attend the event which is set to be staged at Turf Moor on Saturday, May 13.

Alongside the likes of the legendary Jimmy McIlroy and Turf Moor heroes like Brian Miller, John Connelly, Adam Blacklaw and Ray Pointer will be a string of other big names from the history of the club.

And there will also be appearances from a few celebrity Clarets fans like John Kettley, Alistair Campbell, Eric Knowles and Sir Bernard Ingham.

Ex-Clarets in Sport are organising the event and there will be other big names from the world of sport in attendance like World Cup referee Jack Taylor.

Mike King will compere the evening and former Claret Mick Docherty is among the speakers.

BURNLEY'S promotion rivals Wigan will have to face the rest of the season without top scorer Stuart Barlow, who has undergone surgery on an ankle injury and looks unlikely to be back for the run-in.

IT was good to see two former Burnley players on the scoresheet last weekend as Steve Morgan scored in Hull City's 4-0 romp at Carlisle and at a lower level Colin Carr-Lawton notched for Whitby Town against Leek Town in the Unibond League Premier Division.

FORMER Clarets skipper Neil Moore today had his sights set on a place at Wembley.

Moore recently left Macclesfield Town to join Conference side Telford United, who are going full-time next season, and this afternoon was bidding to help his new club turn round a 1-0 deficit in the second leg of their FA Umbro Trophy semi-final against Kettering.
