ONE OF Lancaster's most successful attractions is currently undergoing a transformation.

Lancaster Leisure Park, home of GB Antiques Centre, is enjoying a face-lift in preparation for Easter as part of a £100,000 cash injection from a team of new arrivals led by Lancashire businessman, Leslie Ball.

The park, which is owned by GB Antiques Centre's Allan Blackburn this month welcomes new owners for the site's caf bar, children's rides and other outdoor attractions. Their first priority has been to give the caf a brand new look and rejuvenate the go-karts.

Allan Blackburn said, "It is so important to have high calibre facilities like good quality catering and rides. "The caf is particularly important to attract coaching visitors - I'm delighted to welcome Leslie. I'm sure that our 250,000 visitors will agree that he and his committed team have worked very hard and made immense improvements."

The caf, formerly Badgers Restaurant will be re-opening on April 21, under the name of Hamlets on the Park Caf Bar with a new, rustic theme and enhanced menu.

Leslie has also invested £12,000 into bringing back the site's go-karts.

Leslie said, "The go-karts have now been completely upgraded and are open daily for solo enthusiasts as well as groups looking for competition events. They will certainly satisfy the needs of any would-be racer!"

The process of improving and introducing new outdoor children's rides and attractions will continue over the next twelve months with the creation of up to 10 new, full time and part time jobs.

"I can see that Lancaster Leisure Park has a lot of potential, but it needs someone to invest further and to take positive action. It's a great attraction and I wanted to be part of it as it continues to grow!" Leslie said.

Lancaster Leisure Park is open daily from 10am - 5pm.
