THERE'S just two weeks to go before more than 200 kind-hearted Preston folk pull on their training shoes and help raise cash for cancer treatment.

Entries are flooding in for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation fun run, to be held at Moor Park in Preston on Bank Holiday Monday (May 1).

And you don't have to be a fitness fanatic to join in the fun. A two-kilometre walk sets off at 11.30am and for those who like a challenge, a five-kilometre run will start at 11am.

Sue Thompson, fund-raiser for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation, said: "It's not too late to enter, we are extending the entry date as so many people have decided to join in."

And if you don't fancy taking part yourself, supporters are welcome to cheer on their teams or family members.

Children's entertainers, a jazz band and an Army paint-balling team will be taking everyone's minds off sore feet and aching limbs.

Trained clinical staff will also be on hand to explain the work of the cancer centre and unveil the range of specialist treatments now available to cancer patients in the area.

Participants should be there at least half an hour early to allow time for registration and the collection of sponsorship money.

For a minimum donation of £5, exhausted runners can treat themselves to a leg massage, from a member of the Northern Institute of Massage.

There will be free parking on Preston North End and Moor Park car parks.
