AS she pedalled off eight years ago on a bike ride with her dad little did Victoria Curran realise it would lead to a TV appearance.

One the ride they called in at Ellenbrook and Boothstown Band practice and a music seed was sewn which quickly blossomed.

Now on Easter Day, Chetham's School of Music student Victoria will be screened alongside nine other top musicians playing trumpet at the morning service being broadcast on BBC-1.

Those early years with E and B, where her dad Barry and grandfather Frank used to play, and enjoyable sessions with the Fred Longworth school band and Wigan Youth Orchestra, certainly paid-off.

Four hours a day practising, seven days a week -- plus numerous rehearsals and the guidance of tutor and Halle Orchestra assistant trumpeter Gareth Small, have honed Victoria's skills and she seems destined to become a professional musician.

Now studying for her A levels, the former Garrett Hall and Fred Longworth High pupil will this year begin a four year BMus course at London's Guild Hall. NON
