BURNLEY will show their final game of the season at Scunthorpe United live on a big screen at Turf Moor if promotion is riding on it.

The match on May 6 will also be beamed back if the Clarets need three points to guarantee a play-off place.

"We will do it if it's a crucial game," confirmed Clarets general manager Andrew Watson.

Scunthorpe have given their blessing, knowing that Burnley will easily sell their full allocation of 2,100 tickets should it be a make-or-break clash in which the Iron may also need the points themselves to stay up.

And the Clarets are ready to meet the five-figure fee needed to stage the screening, knowing that if Stan Ternent's men have the chance of going up to Division One by winning the Glanford Park clash they can expect a bumper crowd to watch the relayed pictures.

"We feel there would be a huge attendance if it was a critical game because the tickets for the match itself would be snapped up very quickly," Watson added.

Burnley last screened an away game when they played the first leg of their 1991 Fourth Division play-off semi-final at Torquay United, which they lost 2-0.

Meanwhile, Glen Little will return to the Clarets squad for Monday's game at Brentford (kick-off 3pm). The winger completed his three-match ban by sitting out this afternoon's home clash with promotion rivals Millwall.

And his return will be a welcome one as Burnley look for maximum points to try and claim the second automatic promotion place. Lenny Johnrose may miss the trip to Griffin Park as he recovers from concussion sustained against Gillingham in mid-week.

But the rest of Ternent's squad plans will rest on events in today's game.

Brentford, who were at Oxford today, have plummeted down the table since occupying a play-off place in mid-October.

A 2-2 draw with the Clarets on October 2 helped Ron Noades' side extend a remarkable unbeaten run which stood at 26 matches before they lost 2-1 at home to Gillingham a fortnight later.

Since then, the Bees have lost 18 of their 32 games to tumble to 15th in the table.

And their record of nine games without a win was the worst in the division ahead of today's fixtures.

Burnley are urging supporters not to leave renewing their season-tickets until the final day of the biggest discount period which falls next Saturday.

The Turf Moor ticket office will be open until 7pm next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to deal with season-tcket sales.
