A MULTI-MILLION order is set to bring work to an East Lancashire aero engine factory.
American Airlines has placed a £210million order for Rolls-Royce RB211-535 engines for 23 Boeing 757s.
Deliveries for the new order are scheduled to begin in May 2001 and continue at a rate of two a month.
"This latest order builds on our long-term relationship with an extremely important customer," said David Whetton of Rolls-Royce.
Rolls-Royce's Barnoldswick site manufactures wide chord fan blades and front bearing housings for the RB211-535 engines.
