PAUL Terzis will know on Tuesday how many of his five transfer targets will be joining the Centurions' push for Super League.

The Hilton Park boss has guaranteed that at least two new faces will be on board before next week's transfer deadline.

"We're in negotiation with five players and I'm sure that we'll land at least two of them," he says.

But the two French internationals that Terzis wanted have opted to link up with Super League leaders Bradford Bulls.

"We were close," he says. "But at the end of the day the attraction of full-time training swung the deal Bradford's way." All Terzis' remaining targets are English and are currently with Super League clubs.

"The problem's not been with the players or the finance, it's the reluctance of the respective clubs to release them. It's been a very frustrating time.

"But I'm certain that by next Tuesday we will have a couple of new faces around the place. I want the deals sorted out well ahead of the signing deadline on June 16."

One of those Terzis is chasing is believed to be Wigan centre or second rower Dwayne West, son of former Central Park coach Graeme.

West, 19, will play in this year's World Cup with the Cook Islands.

Another possible target is Wigan's goal-kicking stand-off Phil Jones who has been unable to break into the senior squad on a regular basis since his big-money move from Lancashire Lynx last year. Leigh are also in talks with Ian Millward at St Helens about a couple of reserve graders.

"If we could top off the squad with a bit of quality, then we'd be in really good shape for the remainer of the NFP league season and then the play-offs that follow," adds Terzis.
