LEIGH East Tigers were edged out 18-16 by Wigan St Pat's Under 10s.

The Tigers were in front twice with Ben Taylor and Karl Morris working hard in defence. They managed to keep St Pat's out until the conditions helped by holding the ball up in a puddle for their first try.

Forwards Phil Taylor and man of the match Ryan Wignall pushed East back to the St Pat's line and Andrew Keating touched down for a second time, Chris Penn converting.

The Wigan side scored twice to lead for the first time before Lyndon Robertson pulled the try count back level.

The Most Improved Player award went to Philip Taylor.

East's under nines finished the season in fine style, hammering Halton Hornets 48-18.

David Hodgson topped the scorers with four touchdowns with Kieron Williams, Matthew Rozman, Ben Hansen, Brett Hardman, Martin Howard and Adam Thomasson all crossing the line.

Steve Madeley pulled on a Hornets shirt and was areal handful for his East team-mates.
