JUST what are things coming to? Now everyone in the country is being asked what top three changes they think would make the NHS better.

Then no doubt a large number of people employed, possibly civil servants, will spend hours, days, weeks vetting these 12 million leaflets to find out what the top three changes are!

Who is paying for all this? Yes, you and I, AGAIN!

I am told that it costs a great deal of money to have a General Election where people of a responsible nature and "supposedly" experienced are elected to represent us in the Government. It is these people including Alan Milburn that we expect to be experienced enough in their particular job to be able to make serious decisions themselves.

That is what they get a substantial MP's salary for -- not to ask the general public to guide them on making decisions and/or possible future improvement to the NHS.

If Alan Milburn is not able to define and decide himself what changes are needed to make the NHS better, I suggest he changes his job.

Why only three changes? We all know that there is a lot more than three changes needed.

Let's get down to the real facts, looking at hospitals, doctors, nursing staff, waiting times, location of certain types of hospital, heart surgery, transplants, staff pay, incorrectly diagnosed results being given out constantly. The list is endless.

Come on Alan, let's really tackle this job professionally -- not pushing 12 million leaflets out.

Mr W Rouse,
