TABLE-TOPPING Prestwich have been dealt a blow to their championship hopes after news that quickie Chris Humphreys is unlikely to bowl for the rest of the season after suffering a recurrence of a stomach muscle injury.
Chris had bowled a 10-over stint for the Heys Road side against Dukinfield on Saturday when he returned for a second spell and pulled up after one ball.
He has now been told the injury, which he first sustained in a National Knockout Cup game against Clifton in May, will prevent him from bowling for the remainder of the season -- but he will be fit to bat and field.
The injury means Prestwich have added 15-year-old bowler Andy Taylor to their squad for Sunday's re-arranged Walkden Cup semi-final away at Woodhouses.
