WHEN TV stars turn out for a charity soccer match to celebrate the Queen Mother's Birthday they will sport kits made in Burnley.

The match will be played at Ascot on August 13 when the TV All Stars XI will take on a team of jockeys who will be wearing their silks.

Kit suppliers Super League, in Albert Street, Burnley, have been asked to provide shirts, shorts and socks for Robbie Jackson of East Enders, Michael Greco who plays Beppe Di Marco in the BBC1 soap, Emmerdale's Ben Freeman who plays Scott Windsor, Gladiator Rhino who will be in goals and Paul Hendy, co-star of Don't Try This At Home and many others.

Joyce Pickles, former marketing manager for Burnley FC, founded Super League 10 years' ago and is the company's managing director.

She said: "We are delighted to be asked to supply the kits and very proud that our kits will be worn as part of the celebrations for the Queen Mother.

"We are using Burnley firm G and L Leisure to make the garments who in turn are using Cloverbrook for the fabric, they also make for Umbro and Adidias, and then the printing will be carried out by another local firm Explosive Printing. "As a kit supplier we have offered to donate the kit free for charity."

The shirts have a 'regal look' with a gold front, navy side panels, navy shorts and white and gold socks.

Mickey Ambrose, who plays PC Mick Tate in The Bill, set the all stars up seven years ago and had a host of stars from all programmes on all channels to chose from to make up the teams.

Mickey, who has just been appointed a Sports Ambassador for the Government, said: "I am a former player for Charlton Athletic and I set up this team seven years' ago.

"To date we have raised £1million for charity by organising events at football clubs which have taken the format of a family day out bringing local communities together.

"We will be doing more business with Joyce because the company is very organised and very professional. It should be a great day."

Super League supplies kits for ten teams across the country from Wrexham to Scunthorpe, Cambridge to Blackpool and, of course, the home team of Burnley.

All money raised from the event will be split between the TV team charities, Deaf Blind UK, Sense, Fight for Sight and Action for Blind people and the jockey's charity the National Hunt Injured Jockeys Fund.
