BIG-hearted teenager Lucy Leeming has enlisted help from other generous young people to stage a charity concert.

Money raised by the showcase of young talent at the Silverman Hall, Nelson, on August 19 will go to the breast cancer unit at Burnley General Hospital where Lucy's 75-year-old grandmother Doreen Fairclough was successfully treated.

Lucy searched for young singers, dancers and actors to take to the stage. On the night there will be 12 acts led off by Lucy and her friend Kimberley Ellerton, 15, of Nelson, who will sing.

"I'm interested in being involved in this kind of thing when I'm older so I thought it would be good experience for me and raise money for a good cause at the same time," said Lucy, of The Green, Nelson, a pupil at Walton High School.

"I also wanted to say thank you to the hospital for the way they helped my family."

Tickets priced £3 for adults and £2 for concessions are available from Lucy by contacting 01282 695910. The venue is being sponsored so all the money raised will go to the hospital.
