A FORMER Darwen woman is searching for a trio of school friends she last saw nearly half a century ago.
Audrey Fish is returning to her home town in September for a holiday and would like to be reunited with Marion Boardman, Hazel Jackson and Mary Charleton. The girls all attended Avondale School in 1946 and joined Darwen Girls' Choir the following year, appearing regularly in performances at Darwen Baths.
Her niece, Wendy Marsh, of Leyland, said: "They were instant friends, from day one. She has some wonderful memories and would be thrilled to meet up with her school friends."
Audrey worked at the Anchor Silk Mill and left England to emigrate to Canada in 1956.
Anybody who can help should ring Wendy on 01772 434570.
