Accrington Stanley 1, Great Harwood 0
STANLEY retained the VMI Hyndburn Trophy with a single goal victory over near neighbours Great Harwood at the Crown ground.
In a match of few scoring chances, the game's only goal came on 42 minutes when Stanley's Eamon Kelly unleashed a fierce shot that gave Harwood keeper Bobby Harris no chance of saving.
The impressive Harris had earlier saved Harwood with a fine double save from Steve Carragher on 22 minutes.
Mark Brennan almost added a second for Stanley three minutes from time with a thumping shot that crashed against the crossbar.
Tonight Stanley travel to Fleetwood Freeport for their latest pre-season friendly match while the reserves team travel to play Colne.
