RE the sacking of the principal of Blackpool Sixth form, Mr Fulford.

The only facts I know are what I have read in the papers, but what I do know is that I found him a very approachable person, who had the students' interests at heart, and was prepared to give any future student of the college the chance to reach their full potential.

I know if it had not have been for Mr Fulford and the college, my son would be in a very different position than he is now. My son had many difficulties and illnesses, particularly in the last three years of secondary school.

Resulting, he felt he was useless but he was desperate to go to college and it has changed his outlook. He has regained his confidence and, due to the help and support received at college in his qualifying year, he is going to go back to college try for A levels.

The studenst are always encouraged, praised and helped in every way possible, I feel far better than at most secondary schools.

I am sure there must be many ex-students and parents in Lancashire, who like myself feel he is owed some support, and understanding. For he has achieved much for the college and I would like to see positive comments in the local papers.
