REGARDING parking for residents who live near Blackburn Rovers' ground, I suggest that those in the Livesey area, especially Heys Lane, go to the town hall to inspect the proposed parking plans which appeared in your newspaper (LET, September 7).
Residents are being charged £10 per car. It would appear that non-residents can get a permit for £35.
Does this mean that a fan can get hold of a permit for the season for £35 and share the cost of it out?
An on-the-spot penalty isn't much different in cost.
If this is so, as a resident, I could still be prevented from parking and the non-resident would be well within their rights.
By going to the town hall, I have found various anomalies in the plan. And as there are only two notices about it attached to lamp posts in Heys Lane itself and not everyone gets the Evening Telegraph, people should be made aware that all is not as it appears.
The scheme is supposed to start on Saturday.
PEEL (Mrs), Heys Lane, Blackburn.
