I WRITE in praise of the staff at Morrison's supermarket in Blackburn, and their handling of the fuel crisis on Monday. I queued, along with many others, for petrol at the store. The staff were magnificent.

They were on duty by the pumps, directing traffic to whichever pump became vacant, then directing the cars to parking bars so that payment could be made without blocking the pumps for the waiting queue.

I am quite sure that no staff training could have covered this eventuality and feel it should go on record as to how well they coped in such an unusual situation.
