THE Fouray String Quartet from the Lancashire Student Symphony Orchestra played a selection of light classical music by popular composers at a grand concert in St Mary's Church, Mellor.
About 180 people attended the event and the music group from St Mary's day school put on a performance during the interval.

The £1,411 proceeds from the concert will go towards church maintenance.
