RESIDENTS on one of Preston's largest housing estates got together at the weekend for a party with a difference.
Saturday afternoon's dismal weather failed to dampen the spirits of locals on the Callon housing estate, off New Hall Lane, as they enjoyed their annual Gala Day.
Dozens of children and adults enjoyed a really fun day at the event which took place at Fishwick County Primary School and St Teresa's RC Primary School, both in Downing Street, Preston.
With stalls galore and lots of fun games on offer, everyone had the time of their lives, and there was even a visit from the Army.
Headteacher at Fishwick School, Helen Underwood, said: "It was a wonderful day for everyone with lots to do. And there was a shooting range but I couldn't hit the target even though one of the younger ones managed to hit the bull's-eye."
