I THINK it's utterly outrageous that Preston Borough Council cannot bring themselves to support gay rights (Gay Rebel Flies Flag, Citizen September 7).
Councillor Fitzgerald should be applauded for his stance against a council beseeched by closet anti-gays and pompous councillors more interested in wooing middle-class voters than they are in standing up for basic human rights.
Every councillor who voted against flying the Rainbow flag at the Town Hall should hang their heads in shame -- they are nothing more than a marauding bunch of shameless, self-obsessed fascists.
Bring back the gallows and instead we'll hang them from the steps of the town hall.
