A MAN was the victim of a shocking assault as he walked along Blackpool Promenade in the early hours of the morning.

The incident happened on Sunday September 3 when the man was walking along North Promenade at around 5am. He was approached from behind and pushed into the alleyway next to the Park House Hotel.

The attacker pushed him face first into a wall and put his knee in the small of his back before verbally abusing him and attempting to indecently assault him.

Luckily the man struggled free and ran off. The attacker was aged 30-35 years, around 5ft 9ins, and stocky with dark, lank greasy hair past his ears. He was stubbly with a pock-marked face, wearing heavy trousers, a cagoule and white or beige trainers. He also spoke with a distinctive Lancashire accent.

AT around 10pm on Saturday September 2, a 78-year-old wheelchair-bound man had his wallet containing £170 cash stolen. Two youths distracted him at his home in Lytham Road, Blackpool, and stole it before running off. They were aged around 16. One was 5ft 4ins with mid-length dark hair, very scruffy and dirty looking. AN elderly woman was walking her dog along Cherry Tree Road in Blackpool when a younger woman shouted abuse at her and then began punching and kicking her. A man who was with the abusive woman, kicked the dog before dragging his companion off towards Penrose Avenue.

The incident happened shortly before 10pm on Friday September 1 and the woman was in her early 20s, 5ft 6ins, stocky with dark shoulder-length hair, wearing trousers and a sleeveless top. The man was early 20s, 5ft 8ins, with slim facial features and short blond hair. He wore a white polo shirt and dark trousers.

AT around 8.50am on Thursday August 31 a man walking past a young woman on Higher Green, Poulton, committed an indecent act. He was aged around 50, blond hair and unshaven. He wore a red baseball cap and carried a holdall and is described as dirty and scruffy.
