A CITIZEN article headlined "Stay Away Boozers" gave this information -- Councillor Taylor, addressing a meeting of "accommodation providers" (which I expect is the ridiculous new politically correct term for Blackpool landladies) said that £20m of European Union money would be spent on improving the town centre.

I have said this before, and I will keep on saying it, there is no such thing as EU money -- it is our money, yours and mine. We pay £40m every day into the bottomless pit of the EU for which we get nothing except a huge trading deficit and thousands, yes thousands, of useless regulations and directives that interfere with our hard-won freedom and clog the channels of commerce.

Our senior citizens are being evicted from council-run homes, so that they can be sold to raise money. The NHS is perpetually short of money, there is no money to pay nurses or teachers, schools are falling down and yet we continue to pour money into this staging post on the road to the New World Order which Mr Blair is herding us all along.

As Ernie Entwistle's dad used to say: "Daft, I call it."
