A BABY and children's remembrance garden may be provided at Burnley Cemetery.

Members of the council's recreation and leisure committee will be asked to agree to the request by the Stillbirth and Neo-Natal Death Society and Burnley Health Care NHS Trust.

The remembrance garden is intended to provide a place of dedication for those parents who have lost a child through miscarriage and neo-natal death, stillbirth or infant fatality.

If it is agreed it is intended that it will be a restful area of contemplation with a memorial dedicated to those children as a focal point.

Committee members will be told that the garden and memorial could be built on the site of the old Catholic Chapel at Burnley cemetery.
