A WOMAN Christine Billington choked on her stomach contents after accidentally taking too many tablets.

An inquest was told that Miss Billington, 39, was found dead on a settee at her home in Dalton Street, Burnley, by her brother Graham who lived next door.

Pathologist Dr Abdul Al-Dawoud said cause of death was aspiration of stomach contents possibly caused by tablets she had taken.

Analysis showed Methadone at a low level, anti-depressants at nearly three times the lethal dose, drugs for schizophrenia within the therapeutic range, cannabis not taken recently and no alcohol.

PC Karen Hignett said cannabis resin and apparatus for making cannabis cigarettes were on a coffee table near the couch.

The makings of a cannabis cigarette were found under her body, making her believe that whatever happened to her was unexpected.

Recording a verdict of accidental death, East Lancashire Coroner David Smith told her family: "

"There is no question of her wanting to take her own life or anything like that."
