THANK goodness the fuel crisis is nearing an end. Two and a half hours on the Thursday, I queued only to be told, on nearing the front, that the garage had no more fuel left. I and many other motorists were stunned.

However, the next day I heard that the BP station at Grimshaw Park in Blackburn had petrol, so off I went again.

What a pleasant surprise all waiting motorists had. A young lady had the job of talking to them, explaining they would have to wait 30-40 minutes for the fuel tanker to empty its load, but as soon as it had, we would get fuel.

Although it was cold and wet, she walked down the line of motorists explaining the situation. What a good idea -- at least we all knew what was going on.

And, what good organisation -- we were escorted to the fuel pumps and off the forecourt and this made the line of traffic flow much quicker.

Thanks to the cold and wet cashier and to Grimshaw Park Petrol Station.
