Emley 1 Lancaster City 0 LANCASTER failed to get a goal for the first time this season as top of the table Emley secured the points with a late winner.

City are still only four points off top spot and for much of the game they enjoyed greater possession.

But they couldn't turn their chances into goals and paid the price.

They won eight corners in the first half alone but hardly brought a sweat to the Emley keeper.

Paul Haddow's curling free-kick forced a good save on 21 minutes and Paul Cuss needed all his reactions to block a Kenny Myers shot.

City started the second half strongly but ran out of steam after failing to penetrate and sensing the frustration Emley went on the attack.

Lancaster's defence were sleeping when a free-kick took a slight deflection and found an unmarked Andy Wilson who poked the ball past Horridge.

City had a penalty appeal turned down when Lacey looked like he handled the ball but the Blues will be disappointed that they didn't get some reward for their efforts.
