THE county council's Trading Standards department are inviting consumers to take advantage of a free electric blanket safety check before the winter sets in. Worn or poorly maintained electric blankets are dangerous and last year the county's fire fighters were called to 18 blanket fires. Checks can be made at Morecambe Library on Central Drive on Monday September 25.
