IN the early to mid 1970s, Osram the electric lamp makers, built and opened a factory on Lea Green Road.

The main Osram factory was in Shaw, near Oldham, and every day I, and two other engineers, Dave Radcliffe and Ken Simmons, commuted from Shaw to St Helens to help run the factory.

Over the years, however, we have lost touch with our friends in St Helens and we are very keen to organise a re-union and hope you will feature this in the Star in the hope that someone who remembered the Shaw contingent, might read it and contact either me, Brian Smith (tel. 01706 845199) or Dave Radcliffe (tel. 01706 845554).
