MEMBERS of youth organisations in East Lancashire can take part in an event designed to increase their knowledge of citizenship, democracy and representation.
Young People and Democracy, organised by Lancashire Youth and Community Service, will be held at Woodlands Conference Centre, Chorley on Thursday, October 26.
It is an introduction to Youth Parliament Day and elections to the United Kingdom Youth Parliament.
The Youth Parliament is for young people aged between 11 and 18.
It will have its first sitting in London in February next year when it will produce a youth manifesto.
There will be six seats for Lancashire members.
Three or four regional meetings will be held for members, the first on Thursday, November 2 at Goodison Park, home of Everton FC.
If you are interested in taking part, further details are available from Jacky Lawson, of the Youth and Community Service on 01771 262785.
