THE public were warned not to fall for a bizarre confidence trick originating in Nigeria.
Several businesses in East Lancashire, including one in Darwen and one in Rishton, had received letters asking for the individual's bank details to transfer millions of pounds into their account.
The letters claimed to be from a top official from a Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
