A 25-YEAR-OLD frightened woman was threatened with a screwdriver and knife during a weekend armed raid at a Prestwich shop.

Three masked thugs entered the Arati grocery store in the town's Egerton Street on Saturday night (Oct 14) before escaping with the cash register, spirits, mobile phone cards and foodstuffs valued at £500.

The robbery happened around 8pm and the woman was threatened by the raiders.

They made their escape in a getaway car parked outside. It is not known whether it was driven by a fourth man.

One of the robbers was 6ft 5inch tall, medium build and wearing dark clothing and a mask.

A second was 5ft 10inch in height, also of medium build, and wearing a light coloured top and mask.

The third raider was 5ft 8 , medium build and wearing light coloured trousers and a mask.
