UK airport leaders will reaffirm their commitment to sustainable growth of the industry when they meet in Manchester this week for the annual conference of the Airport Operators Association (AOA).
Around 150 delegates will hear a range of speakers, including Manchester Airport chief executive Geoff Muirhead, and chairman of British Midland Sir Michael Bishop, talk on the theme of growth.
With Britain's airports handling more than 175 million passengers this year compared to 100 million just a decade ago, Mr Muirhead will highlight the changes facing the industry to meet the challenges and opportunities that growth brings.
"Airports are now starting to integrate their environmental, economic and social programmes in a way that ensures that each region can continue to benefit form the contribution which its local airport can bring," he said.
The conference is being held today and tomorrow.
