SEVERAL Blackburn fans had a dig (Sports Letters, October 10) about your columnist Stephen Cummings' comments about Burnley being higher than Rovers.
One was on about how, not so long ago, Burnley were playing Carlisle in Auto Windscreens Shield and Blackburn were in Europe. Very true, but in a short time Burnley have climbed and progressed through the football league spending less than millions while Rovers have dropped down along with their so-called supporters while spending millions on overrated players.
Burnley are playing well and I'm sure in the next six to eight years I will see us back where we belong -- in the top flight along with Preston North End. One more thing, if so many Rovers fans reckon Burnley don't mean anything to them, why do they keep writing letters about us. And why do they keep going on, moaning about us?
