HOW refreshing to hear two unbiased views on the joys of being a 21st Century Blackburn Rovers supporter (Dave Smith and S R Barker, Sports Letters, October 10), especially when compared with the eulogising by Matt Howard.
This attitude and perception sums up Rovers to a tee.
For, it is exactly that feeling of mis-placed superiority and arrogance which has landed them where they are now -- looking up at the majority of Division One. It's also funny that Mr Howard should mention "catching the Fulhams" as I could have sworn Manchester United were Rovers' biggest rivals.
I think people like him can't handle the simple fact that Burnley are in the same division and, more to the point, are doing well.
Yet he says Rovers are "certainly in a different league."
Call me old fashioned or even superstitious, but I'd rather be Burnley -- looking up at six, not 13.
