A 22-YEAR-OLD man has appeared before Burnley magistrates charged with the shotgun murder of Iain McKay.
Imtiaz Hussain, of Walpole Street, Burnley, was charged with murdering Mr McKay between September 30 and October 1.
Hussain was represented in court by Trevor Grice.
He was remanded in custody to Preston Crown Court.
Victoria McDonald, 19, of Victoria Road, Padiham, also appeared before magistrates in Burnley charged with attempting to pervert the course of public justice.
She was alleged to have made a false witness statement to police officers investigating the murder of Mr McKay and enlisted the support of acquaintances to provide further false statements.
Pat Bramley, prosecuting, successfully asked for McDonald to be remanded in custody.
Both defendants were arrested in house swoops on Monday.
