A 42 year old Lancaster woman who admitted wounding her step father, had her sentence adjourned for the preparation of reports when she appeared before Preston Crown Court.

Pauline Goodfellow, of St Catherines Court, pleaded not guilty to attempting to murder Barry Whittaker on June 21 this year at Lancaster, but admitted wounding him with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.

She admitted a charge of theft of two credit cards from Oliver Whittaker on the same date. Sentence was adjourned for the preparation of a psychiatric report and a pre-sentence report.

Goodfellow was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on November 10. Judge Peter Openshaw QC told her that all sentencing options remained open.
