Blackpool Scorpions 22 Bank Quay Bulls 31. SCORPIONS lost their unbeaten record in a hard fought contest but could have won but for errors in good field positions.

They took the lead when Julien Irving finished off a set move from a scrum. Craig Campbell missed the conversion but shortly after kicked a penalty.

The visitors then scored a converted try to level the scores.

Stand-off Gareth Chadwick restored the Scorpions lead when he intercepted on the half-way line and raced clear to touchdown under the posts. Campbell converted to make the score 12-6.

The action was fast and furious with no quarter given and it was no surprise when the Warrington side stormed back with two converted tries to lead 18-12 at half-time. Straight after the break ex-Fylde RUFC player Dave Tanner and Julien Irving combined to put Craig Campbell through for a try. Campbell converted to level the scores at 18-18.

The Bulls were then penalised twice for holding down in the tackle and Campbell kicked both penalties to give the Scorpions a lead of 22-18. But soon after Scorpions knocked on and on the next set of tackles the Bulls scored a converted try to lead 24-22.

They increased that lead with a drop goal giving them a 3-point cushion, meaning the Scorpions had to score a try.

They went close several times, but the Bulls defence held firm they sealed victory with a converted try in the dying seconds.
