FYLDE fundraisers have collected a massive £50,000 to donate to Manchester's Christie Hospital.

The 20 active members of the Christie Hospital's Fylde Coast Fundraisers crammed their spare time full of darts marathons, golf tournaments and casino nights to raise the huge sum.

One particular high point was the auction of a lithograph donated by Prince Charles which raised £4,000.

Maureen Reid, chairman of the Fylde group said: "We have great fun and gain a lot of personal satisfaction at the charity events.

"We are extremely grateful to our friends and families and all of the local people who have supported us."
