TWO Fylde women have been presented with special medals from the Queen for their tireless work for others.
Mrs Joan Meadows from Norbreck and Mrs Amy Arundel from Hambleton, pictured here left and right respectively, were each presented with the Queen's Women's Voluntary Service medal on October 13, for the 30 years of voluntary work they have completed between them.
The medals, which bear the logo "Service Beyond Self", are presented to a volunteer who completes 40 duties per year for more than 15 years.
Mrs Meadows has worked at the Women's Royal Voluntary Service Thornton Lunch Club for 15 years and Mrs Arundel has delivered meals on wheels in Hambleton since 1983.
Mrs Sadie Baker, WRVS vice chairman's committee member said: "It is a pleasure to present these long service medals to two volunteers who have given their time so generously over the years.
"The have given unfailing commitment to the people receiving our services and to WRVS."
