AWARD-WINNING Grimewatchers at a Darwen school are hoping their new garden will win them their fourth environment prize in the annual competition.

Holy Trinity School in Bank Top is under way with a 20-year plan to improve the environment around the school.

It began in 1989, intending to develop the ideas of succeeding generations of children, to give them pride in their achievements and their surroundings.

This latest project involves a garden which will be situated at the front of a new junior building to be built later in the year.

Mike Leighton, acting head at the school, said: "Our school grounds mean a lot to us and we hope all our children believe this."

If you have a project that you think is worth celebrating then we want to hear about it. Or if you know someone who is doing good work for the environment and would like to nominate them for Grimebuster or Junior Grimebuster of the Year then let us know.
